Welcome to the Party!


This is a big moment for my blog...my first prize giveaway! Thanks to Michele Foster for organizing this blog hop party, which runs today through November 26. It should be lots of fun. You can find the entire list of participating blogs right here.

I'm giving away one mega-prize, a group of 17 fat quarters of fabric from the Mellow Yellow collection by Red Rooster plus 4 patterns by the talented designers at It's Sew Emma (itssewemma.com), all written to use with fat quarters. Anyone can enter, as long as you have an email address and a mailing address. And now for the goodies!

Here's all you have to do to enter this giveaway. Leave a comment below with your email address and the name of your favorite fabric precut (fat quarters, jelly rolls, charm packs, honey buns, whatever). On November 27, I'll use a random number generator to pick the winner, and notify you by email if you're the lucky quilter. That's it...easy, huh?     I love fat quarters and jelly rolls right now. I see so many cute patterns that I like with those precuts and when I go to fabric stores I usually walk out with tons of fat quarters and/or jelly rolls.

    Whoo Hoo! What beautiful fabrics! Great colors and designs. I'd have to say fat quarters because I haven't had the money to buy any of the others. Been playing with my own stash for awhile. No complaints since I've had a stash to play with. Thanks for hostessing a blog hop, it sounds like fun.

    I really enjoy layer cakes for the "smaller" cuts, but FQ's are my fave because they're large enough that you can cut a lot of different shapes from the same piece.

    My favourite are fat quarters and charm packs, I haven't worked with jelly rolls yet, but I think it all depends on the project.

    I must go with Jelly Rolls as each new pattern I find that I like seems to call for them and I have only a small amount (maybe 8) at this time to work with.     Fat quarters are my favorite but to get a whole fabric line in FQs it's usually just too expensive so a layer cake is my next choice. The Mellow Yellow line is gorgeous, thanks for the chance to win!

    1 yard cuts are best but for a quick quilt I like jelly rolls because there are a lot of strips all nice and even. Especially like batiks.

    I love FQs, but seldom cut them, because I want to use the whole thing, not have just sections cut from it. I like charm squares and layer cakes, too. And jelly rolls. And patterns that use up the whole thing. Nice give away! Thanks.

    Layer Cakes are so versatile--they're probably my favorite. I usually buy FQs or larger, but if I buy precuts it's Layer Cakes or charm squares.
